I am going to start cooking with grape seed oil!
I am learning about all the great benefits that it can possibly
provide. Up till now, I usually have used olive oil, coconut oil,
canola, corn or vegetable. I think that olive and coconut oil are
wonderful and they themselves have a host of healing properties. As I
posted before, coconut oil is great to try for those who are suffering
from dementia or Alzheimer's. Olive oil is said to possibly help with
gall stones, blood pressure and heart health. However, canola, corn
and vegetable oil I am now second guessing. I recently learned that
almost 90% of our corn and canola oils are Genetically Modified or
GMOs. Read more about my recent post here.
Grape Seed Extract, which is taken from the grape seed, is a super antioxidant and oligomeric proanthocyanidin or OPC. Did you know that antioxidants help fight free radicals which cause many diseases? Dr. Jack Masquelier Ph. D. began his study of antioxidants in 1947 at the University of Bordeaux in France. From his research, Masquelier was granted U. S. Patent 4,698,360, in which he concluded pine bark (and grape seed extract) or OPCs can fight free radicals. Further testimonies and research have indicated that benefits of these OPCs could possibly include: lower cholesterol, help with skin problems, strengthened collagen bonds, improved leg and vein issues, vision problems corrected and even help with MS, CFS and Bells Palsy!

Specific eye disorders that grape seed extract is said to help with: glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, corneal ulcerations and possibly cataracts.
Grape
Seed Extract may also help reduce the allergic responses and symptoms
in one's body by inhibiting the enzymes that are involved in the
formation of histamine. An excess of histamine released in the stomach
can cause stomach problems as well as food sensitivities.
Grape
seed can be taken as a supplement or used as a cooking oil. I know
that Italy, who does not use GMOs, sells the oil. Amazon.com would
probably be a great place to start.
